- Next month Norwegian will drop all transatlantic flying Providence and Stewart-Newburgh thanks to the grounding of the 737 MAX.
- San Francisco airport is banning bottled water. Coca Cola plans to sell water in aluminum cans and bottles. I still think there’s an opportunity for Southwest Airlines to corner this market.
- Denver airport is terminating the Great Hall renovation project contract without even knowing how much it will cost to do so. (HT: @RandomSegments) That’s how much of a mess it is. DIA security is of course a mess. How they got themselves into this contract debacle is one big conspiracy theory.
- Still cool with continued rollout of facial recognition in airports? In California 20% of the state’s lawmakers were misidentified as criminals by facial recognition software. Then again, maybe the software wasn’t wrong. (I mean, even smiling throws off the software.)
I wouldn’t say “earns” but maybe “generates revenue of….”
Earns??
AA and BA are in a revenue-sharing joint venture. So what BA gets from it indicates something about what AA gets from it.
@Gary – “earns”? You lambast AA for not earning profits from flying; instead from sale of AAdvantage miles. So you know that “earns” is akin to “profits” – even “gross profits”. But you use it in your headline anyway, knowing it is wrong.
Using “earns” is not (technically) incorrect. However, it should be specified whether it’s earned revenue or earned income.
DIA was a mess when it was built…Denver has been saddled with a bad airport that’s far from town. Oh, Stapleton, where are you…
