Fare Alert: Non-Stop Paris From $257 Roundtrip

United is offering non-stop Newark – Paris roundtrips from $257 roundtrip. And it’s not just for a few dates either, but across much of the schedule for about six months.

If you search most online travel sites you’ll find a fare of $295 roundtrip:

It’s amazing how inexpensively they’ll sell you travel to Paris. This is a $21 base fare in each direction plus taxes and surcharges.

This fare is actually bookable for even less — from $257 roundtrip — using Star Alliance codeshares at Fareboom.com. (HT: Secret Flying)

Key details on United fare KLA87LGT:

  • Outbound travel permitted September 30 – March 30, except for December 13-23
  • Return travel permitted October 29 – April 7, except December 25 – January 7
  • 28 day advance purchase required (which all tickets meet at this point)
  • 7 day minimum trip
  • 6 month maximum stay
  • It’s a basic economy ticket, but since it’s transatlantic that still allows bringing a full-sized carry on bag on board. It is non-refundable with no changes permitted.

I love flying business class. But the price here is sure right, from New York you have no reason to use miles and you may even want to get to New York for this fare. And Eastbound you’re in the air not much more than six hours, that’s doable in coach for most.

    1. The biggest issue with basic economy is not able to pick a seat until 24 hours before the flight. And it is especially bad because i have United Gold and would prefer an exit row for a 6 hour flight.

    2. Gary,

Serious question: How do we know this offer is legit? I”ve never heard of fareboom, and the flight options it is showing are various codeshares on UA metal.

    3. @Rami — I agree. As a UA 1K, these fares DISCOURAGE me to fly UA because they take away all the perks that would make me PREFER to fly UA! It seems short-sighted to me.

    4. I checked the United website, and the fare looks real at $295 r/t. Also, LAX-CDG for those same dates as in the example (3/22-4/1) is $386 in basic / $526 in regular economy. And, one of the options (this was also true for EWR) is a connection in Canada and the transatlantic leg on AC.
