A little bit of rain throws a monkey wrench in air travel in and out of Dallas. DFW actually stands for doesn’t function wet.
However it’s Dallas’ Love Field that seems to be taking the brunt of today’s storms so far, at least if flooding in the A parking garage is any indication. This is the bottom level of the garage closest to the terminal.
The airport blames a drainage issue and plans to pump out water. Where liability will ultimately reside may take some time to sort out. The airport advises car owners to both file with their insurance and report this to the City of Dallas risk management office.
I’m scheduled to fly to Dallas momentarily – the DFW flight before mine has cancelled, though I’m still showing on time (and the one two flights before went off without a hitch).
omg more flooded cars from TX that will soon “flood” the used car market. I feel so bad for the victims… but think these (and previous flooded) cars should not be allowed to be resold by insurers. Horrible deceit on consumers.
The local Dallas news reported that the same areas had flooded about a week or so earlier, so clearly the airport was well aware of this possibility recurring. The airport should have closed this section of the parking garage pending a solution to avoid this from happening again.
