Lie Flat Business Class to Europe 25,500 Miles (Chase/Amex Points)

Iberia is offering 25% off awards in all classes of service booked by March 27 for travel September 1 – December 14, 2019.

For Northeast – Madrid (Boston, New York, Chicago) that means 12,750 miles each way in economy, 25,500 miles each way in business.

It’s not as good as the 50% off from the end of January but this one is for U.S. residents, while that one worked for US residents but didn’t technically permit it.

Iberia is a oneworld airline based in Spain with an underrated fully flat business class product. They’re owned by IAG, the same airline that owns British Airways, and they’re a oneworld partner of American Airlines.

The great thing about Iberia is that when you use Iberia Avios to redeem for Iberia flights they charge fewer miles than British Airways or American does and they do not add usurious fuel surcharges.

Chase and American Express points transfer directly to Iberia. British Airways points transfer to Iberia as well provided your Iberia account has been open 90 days or longer and has earned even one point.

Terms and conditions:

“Avios tactical redemption March 2019 – USA”.

Exclusive offer for Iberia Plus members resident in the United States of a 25% discount when purchasing redemption tickets (spending Avios) in all classes available for Iberia routes between the United States and Madrid.

Offer valid for redemption tickets in all classes available for routes connecting New York, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago to Madrid, in either direction. The offer applies to tickets purchased (one way or return) between 18 and 27 March 2019 to travel between 1 September and 14 December 2019, inclusive.

The offer does not apply to IB5XXX, IB26XX, IB7XXX, and IB8XXX flights, LEVEL flights or the Iberia Air Shuttle. The offer does not cover the applicable charges.

This promotion is personal and offered exclusively to Iberia Plus members resident in the United States. Valid except for typographical error or omission. It cannot be used in conjunction with other promotions to spend Avios which are valid during the same period.

  1. @Shawn – very reasonable, they don’t have an atrocious YQ on their own metal

  2. Lucky said he couldn’t find a single flight with availability in J.

Is this really a good deal if they dont offer a single seat on a single date? Please correct me if you see differently.

  3. I searched yesterday and today from Chicago, New York and Boston for 2 people. I didn’t find any business class available and most economy was not on Iberia but on BA with a stopover in London.
I didn’t see the discounted Avios amount but I remember one time in the past, people said it didn’t discount until you went to check out. I didn’t do that, because I found no award seats on Iberia.

  4. I’ve been trying to register for the past day and it keeps telling me “oops… Connection error.” It doesn’t matter what browser I use either. Unreal. I heard their customer service isn’t good, but if the website doesn’t work well either its a useless offer.
