- American at LAX:
American Airlines is expected to release details on Wednesday of a planned $1.6 billion upgrade to its LAX terminal over the next 10 years. Rival Delta Air Lines is spending $1.9 billion to upgrade its own facilities at the increasingly crowded and busy airport.
- Chef Geoff’s on the C concourse at Washington Dulles is now a Priority Pass restaurant. There are several lounges in the program at Dulles, albeit on other concourses, free food for United customers!. (HT: One Mile at a Time)
- The Lufthansa business class lounge in the Detroit airport is now Priority Pass too though of course all Star Alliance Golds (including United Gold elite and higher) get Lufthansa lounge access when flying United domestically already, and that’s Senator lounge access no less.
- Here’s a low pass as Azores Airlines says goodbye to operating the Airbus A310. Not many airlines still flying commercial variants of the plane, I’m only aware of Air Transat and Mahan Air left although readers may be aware of others.
I got to fly that Azores Airlines plane BOS-PDL last year and flew in one of their new a321s this year. I had a good flight on both. I know that Azores Airlines is famous for bad customer service, but I didn’t see it.
Wasn’t this a variant of the AA plane whose tail snapped off over Fire Island in 2001? Hopefully the composite technology has progressed since then :/

@WR so you support full, unbiased, unimpeded, unobstructed investigations by law enforcement into sexual assault and harassment cases? You haven’t locked up Hillary Clinton yet, and Roy Moore almost got elected.

@steve: In a manner of speaking, yes. The aircraft involved in the incident that you refer to was an A300, which was, at one time, widely used by American. Flown in many of them myself, especially on routes to and from Latin America. Those have long since been sold off and/or retired and now you often get a 737 knee-crusher instead.
Anyhow, the A310 is basically a shortened version of the A300.
