Cathay Pacific misspelled their own name on a freshly painted plane.
Apparently the painters doing the job had no F’s left to give.
Oddly there wasn’t just a space where the missing letter should have gone. Someone laid this out with an error, and no one painting it new the difference.
Errors with English language signs and advertising, when people working on them don’t know the language, can pose problems. Like when Pepsi the Choice of a New Generation was translated into Chinese as ‘Pepsi will bring your dead ancestors back to life.’ Or what happened when Purdue Chicken’s slogan got translated into Spanish.
The airline dubbed this ‘a special livery’ while acknowledging the plane would need to go in for warranty work.
Oops this special livery won’t last long! She’s going back to the shop!
