Hyatt is out with their new promo and so is Hilton. Now we know what IHG Rewards Club, the loyalty program for Intercontinental, Holiday Inn, Kimpton, Crowne Plaza and related brands, will offer.
IHG Rewards Club has been running gamified promotions for awhile where they give you ‘tasks’ that earn points. The most recent one ended at July 31.
Now they’re out with their newest promotion. It’s not called ‘Accelerate’ and it doesn’t seem to offer as many tasks for points.
They call it Double Points plus more and offers double points starting with your second stay between September 16 and December 16. Those points are capped. But you may have offers to earn more additional bonus points. Registration is required.

One Mile at a Time reports being offered double points up to 30,000 points and 6400 points for booking two stays with the IHG app.
Intercontinental Boston
The most efficient way to earn IHG Rewards Club points right now of course is with the IHG® Rewards Club Premier Credit Card. Last month Chase launched a 100,000 point initial offer – the most points they’ve ever offered for an IHG card – after spending $3,000 on purchases within the first three months of account opening. (Offer expired)
Anecdotally my sense is that this is one of the easiest Chase rewards cards to be approved for. And reports are that it is not subject to Chase’s 5/24 rules where they only approve folks that have had fewer than 5 new cards in the last 24 months for many of their products.
The card comes with platinum status; a free night after each account anniversary year at eligible IHG hotels worldwide; a free reward night on points stays of 4 or more nights; Global Entry or TSA Precheck fee credit (up to $100 every 4 years).

I’ve been a long time IHG loyalist and taken advantage of their accelerate promotions. The offer I got this time is junk. I still stay at IC’s because they have the best hotels in the places that I go to, so its too bad that their current promotion is so lousy.

So basically a bad accelerate with no bonuses. The 2 brand one is easy enough and combined with the double points I guess it could be worse.
Offers for both me and my wife were anemic. Instead, as advised, we both got the new IHG Premier card 100K bonus (105K each if you include adding an Authorized User).
I received two promotional offers:
1) Double yourmpoints up to 15,000
2) Stay at four brands and get 44,000
Lamest Accelerate promo offer I’ve ever seen. I registered, but only because it doesn’t cost anything, not because it will affect my plans at all.
Just beware of the offers for a number of stays, keep your eye on the T&Cs, IHG has been known to edit the rules afterwards to require rates above $100 / night

So it looks like three stays (two weekends and one other stay- minimum of 5 nights) would earn the entire bonus. Wasn’t planning on any IHG stays, but this may need to change.
