- LAX airport requires concessionaires and other companies operating on property to sign ‘labor peace agreements’ that encourage unionization. It was a proposal pushed by the Service Employees International Union. Airlines and retailers have challenged the rule in court, arguing it violates federal labor law (which preempts localities from passing their own rules covering unionization).
The federal 9th circuit court of appeals ruled that LAX was acting as a market participant rather than government regulator in adopting these rules. This has been appealed to the Supreme Court and the latest update is that the Court has asked the Trump administration to weigh in.
- Alaska Airlines is assigning letters to boarding groups and separating out first class ahead of elite boarding, but otherwise leaving things largely the same.
- White House cancels $24 million refrigerator order for Air Force One. This isn’t the kind of refrigerator you have in your kitchen. Air Force One carriers 3000 meals in case they need to feed people in the sky for four weeks.

We’re ever the voyeurs, we love abandoned places as nature reclaims them. Just go look up pictures of the Chernobyl area or google mike tyson’s house ohio!
Yeah, the skit with Ariana Grande & Jimmy Fallon was hilarious – and the whole episode with her, including her performance to close out the show, was a standout!
They aired the “Encore” (nb: something that back in the era before “Putting Lipstick on Pigs” like so many companies now get away with when they call REPEATS “Encores” – or of course when our airlines call product degradations “Passenger Preferred ‘Enhancements’” 😉 ) with Ariana Grande earlier this week and it was even better the 2nd time around when it was REPEATED!!!
…Of course, as the Peacock network used to say to market its summer roster of repeats back in the day, “If you haven’t seen it yet, then it’s new to you!”
…so it is in that spirit I will add, apart from the skit embedded with Gary’s post (which is very good…especially at the very end), the whole episode is well worth watching if its demandable, or NBC decides to air one last repeat, er “Encore”, sometime over the summer!
