Great Avis Deal 6000 Miles for 2 Day Car Rental, Earn Unlimited Times

You can earn 6000 Virgin Atlantic miles on 2-day Avis rentals that you book by February 28 and rent by June 30th.

This offer is valid across the US, Canada, Europe, the Mideast as well as Asia and Africa for rentals of 2 days or longer in an intermediate vehicle or above. No locations are excluded.

While I like National for picking my own car, Avis has usually had the best mileage offers. The standard earn with Virgin used to be 1000 miles on a one day rental, and that’s how I earned the bulk of my Virgin Atlantic miles though you can also top off a Virgin account with transfers from a Chase Sapphire Reserve or Chase Sapphire Preferred, a Premier Reward Gold Card from American Express or Amex Everyday, and Citi ThankYou Premier or Citi Prestige since Virgin is a transfer partner of all three major currencies.

And then of course use just 110,000 – 120,000 Virgin miles for roundtrip first class ANA awards between the US and Japan.

There will be some rentals under this deal worth making just for the miles, I’m not likely to pursue that route given the opportunity cost of time involved and not just cash outlay. However it’s unquestionably enough miles to ensure that almost any rentals I make during the promotion should be with Avis as long as their price is at all close to competitive.

  1. This was my first reservation with Avis — decided to pull the trigger because of this promo. I didn’t see anywhere to insert a promo/reference code during booking. Should I just bring it up to the agent at the airport?

  2. No one beats Hertz 5,500 UA miles per rental offer. This could be $20 one weekend day rental so long as it’s mid size or larger vehicle. Too bad my invitation expires on 1/31/18, but by then, I will have accumulated ~100K UA miles through the offer in just 3 months. BTW, achieved Hertz PC status for 2018 even though renting through United.com.

  3. How can you know if any particular station is a participating Avis location? I am asking about Avis at London Heathrow Airport. And how can I know if my rate and times are in the offer and not in a blackout period? More holes than a piece of Swiss cheese!

  4. STILL waiting for these to actually come through! It has been more than a month since I had an agent guide my through to finding the link to the form to submit a claim…
