Sneak Preview of Lufthansa’s New Business Class Seat

Here’s a rendering of the new business class seat that Lufthansa is planning, initially for the Boeing 777-9 to be rolled out in 2020.

They promise “more privacy & the best sleep! … a special shoulder zone for side sleepers, and larger monitors.”

It’s shocking that Lufthansa doesn’t offer direct aisle access for all of their business class seats today, and that it’s over a couple of years ago before they’ll offer it even on one plane.

However beginning in 2020 they will offer a seat that is current standard for a good business class today.

  1. The seat itself looks like OSs or LXs in that it will be hard and narrow. No thanks.Ive recently flown both OS & LX in Biz and cant believe Im saying this, but I missed UAs seat! So much more padding and wider, I can toss and turn on UA which I wasnt able to do on LX or OS(per UA Im referring to the CO metal 772 and 764, havent tried out the new Polaris seat yet).

I sort of miss the old LH non-lie-flats that were wide and very padded.

  2. I believe lh we’re going to standardize across the board, so this could be the next Lx/OS seat also
