Delta’s new Airbus A350s feature 48 premium economy seats and also 32 business class suites with doors.
Business class award space is pretty much non-existent on the initially announced routes. They announced two new routes this past week though and seem to have forgotten to block business class saver awards.
Business class is going to be a Thompson Vantage XL seat seat with doors. I’m looking forward to seeing this in practice, since it’s a fairly standard seat, good enough, but not world leading I’m curious to see what the modifications are like and the extent to which the doors gain privacy but trade off with space.
The A350 will launch internationally Detroit – Tokyo on October 30. There aren’t any days where two business class saver award seats are available. Through end of schedule the flight prices out at 200,000 or 240,000 miles per person one way.
On November 18 they launch Detroit – Seoul and pricing for business class awards is similar. Same with Detroit – Beijing which launches January 17 on this aircraft.
However Delta announced new A350 routes this past week and those have business class saver availability.
Detroit – Amsterdam launches with the Airbus A350 April 1. Here’s award availability for (2) passengers in business class. There are a handful of dates where this is available at the saver level from the time of launch through end of schedule. Availability is better if searching for just one passenger. (HT: Meir W.)
Detroit – Shanghai launches with the Airbus A350 April 19. As I write this the inaugural A350 flight on the route is available for 2 passengers in business class at the saver level.
