Houston Airports Are Re-Opening, But Don’t Expect Anything Close to Normal For Awhile

It’s incredibly frustrating for people trapped in Houston, and those trying to get home. One element of a return to normalcy is slowly, surely, coming about though.

Both Houston Hobby and Houston Intercontinental are technically opening back up right now. I say technically with great intention.

If United operates flights tomorrow — Thursday — it’s likely to be a very limited number and only to other hubs. Getting to the airport remains challenging with road closures due to flooding.

Normally operations will take several days, coming back slowly and in phases. Friday will be better than Thursday. Sunday should be better still.
