Fare Deal: Roundtrip to the Mideast (Including Israel) from $499

American Airlines partner Royal Jordanian has some fantastic fares between their U.S. gateways — New York JFK, Chicago, Detroit — and the Mideast.

You can fly to Amman, Jordan for $499 roundtrip — this is a $130 base fare in each direction plus taxes and fees. Or you can fly to Tel Aviv, Israel for $529 — a $161.50 base fare in each direction.

Amman Jordan from $499

Tel Aviv from $529

The Tel Aviv schedule from Detroit isn’t super desirable. One note for passengers flying to and from New York JFK is that American AAdvantage Platinum members and higher will have access to the new American Airlines Flagship lounge since Royal Jordanian departs from JFK’s Terminal 8.

Key details of the fare:

  • Travel available through March except for December 15 through January 10.
  • Tickets must be issued by August 12, though I don’t expect the fare to actually last that long.
  • One month maximum stay
  • $250 change fee ($300 for no show)

This fare should be bookable on any major travel booking site.
