BREAKING: Delta Flight Attendant Reportedly Arrested After Working Paris – Detroit Flight Today

Delta flight 99 from Paris to Detroit landed nearly an hour and a half late this afternoon.

On arrival a second hand report relays that two officers boarded the flight and instructed a flight attendant to have everyone remain seated.

Officers then, apparently, instructed a male flight attendant to “get his bag” and then proceeded to handcuff him and “walk him off the plane.”

I will update when more details of the situation are known.

Update: The flight attendant was arrested “on an active warrant for grand theft in the third degree from Orange County, Florida” and was expected to be extradited to Florida.

  1. Nice job writing an article with zero details… Wait until you find out more before you start writing these articles.

Oh wait… forgot about ad rev.

  2. Jesus Christ, Gary, how do you look yourself in the mirror with respect with absurd headline/articles like this?

Either your blog is a long-con piece of performance art designed to mock CNN-style “breaking” announcements or you’ve seriously gone off the deep end

  3. Gary – I must confess, this isn’t breaking news. A poster on flyertalk has posted a story, nothing more. I really think you need some details, statements or even an link to the police rap sheet.

  4. Seems like a (modestly) interesting bit of aviation related news to me. Not everyday a flight attendant is arrested while working a flight like this.

  5. So we’re just reposting second-hand stories from Flyertalk with no context or details now? OK, anything for clicks I guess.

  6. “I will update when more details of the situation are known.”

No need really. We can read Flyertalk or watch CNN.

  7. Geez, Gary, I know I don’t pay anything to read your blog and I do get a lot of pretty helpful information from you, but I’m really outraged that I don’t find every single post to be absolutely fascinating and tailored to my exact specifications. If you can’t do better, I’m going to have to go somewhere that does.

  8. Very nice, blatantly stealing something from Flyertalk without having any more information…

  9. Gary Left: CNN’s new Go-TO- Source for air travel breaking news…

  10. Bob do you realize that the Washington Post writes exactly what the New York Times writes, without additional details, all the time? So what if it was posted in Flyertalk, Gary highlighted what was posted there since most of us don’t read that site let alone every post in the Delta forum.

  11. Your blog is going downhill Gary. Your analysis of airline financials and marketing can be stimulating, but lately it seems like all you write about are subjects that belong in the National Enquirer. Lately you’ve shared a lot of posts about things gone wrong – airlines dumping poop in driveways, people having affairs in airports, people attacking others on airplanes, and now a rumor about some flight attendant getting arrested. Who cares. I wish you’d stick to what you’re good at and not what you think will generate the most clicks.

  12. Well, since you seem to be in need of second-hand stories…

I was at the Admiral’s Club last week and I saw a guy take a whole HANDFUL of mints from the counter at the entrance. He must have grabbed 8-10 of them, easy and nobody behind the counter noticed. I’m pretty sure they are only set out for one per person.

Please update when more details of the situation become known.

  13. And I get routinely banned on this website for sharing my opinions that are at the same level as this article.

  14. To all you complaining – you can get a refund for your paid subscription to this blog if you aren’t happy with it, no questions asked.

    SMH with these complainers.

  15. Gary…do you actually get paid for this? Please…tell us how. I have a facinating story reported to me by a reliable source who heard it from a friend about a box o C4 made to look like brownies found in an overhead bin on a major carrier. Reportedly, an attendant bit into one and exclaimed, “delicious!: I’ll post details later.

  16. Wow what a fully detailed article from our global correspondent at XYZ News LOL !

  17. Gary – I forgot that I had unsubscribed from your blog and was shocked when I realized it because I hold you in such high regard and recently re-subscribed.

Now I remember why I left in the first place – your blog is full of click bait, and you don’t even expose the full article to the RSS feed.

You are an aviation authority and have so much valuable insight to offer the community. Don’t stoop to this level.

  18. All the haters who thought this story isn’t real must feel like idiots now that Delta and the FBI have formally confirmed it. Kudos to Gary for having it before national news outlets.

  19. Oh and Gary is clearly getting the last laugh here, check out the number of social shares on this post!!! Sure seems like most of the tens of thousands of people reading liked this post enough to share it, even if a handful of people who comment didn’t.

  20. Why wouldn’t they justvwIt for the guy to deboard? See no reason for them to come on the plane and do this.

  21. Notice that the FTer who posted this has a handle ending in “007” 😉 ! I guess Gary figured that it was postworthy because it came straight from Double-O-Seven!
Seriously, thank you Chris & Frank for posting appropriate links!
