  1. I think AA’s commitment to spend $1.6 billion on what is essentially a new terminal at LAX shows that having successful, profitable airlines in the USA is not a bad thing for consumers. LAX seems to be particularly fortunate to have several competitors who have the resources to go after what is obviously a lucrative clientele. Seems like a win-win to me.
