FARE ALERT: Business Class to Several Asian Destinations From $1954 Roundtrip

Hainan Airlines is offering business class from Chicago to several Asian destinations from $1954. Here’s Chicago – Hong Kong:

The flights between Beijing and Hong Kong are on Hong Kong Airlines:

These are $750 fares in each direction with a $300 fuel surcharge.

Hainan’s Boeing 787 is six-across in business class (like United, whereas American in contrast is four-across).

You aren’t just limited to Hong Kong, for instance you can fly to Bangkok for $100 more:

Or to Tokyo for $2014 roundtrip:

Key things to know about this fare:

  • Outbound travel is permitted through April 30
  • 2 free stopovers permitted, additional stopovers allowed at $100 each
  • Refunds available for $400
  • $250 change fee

Hainan Airlines has been a partner of Alaska Airlines since summer 2015, and I fares earn 100% base and 100% bonus miles when credited to Mileage Plan.

At these prices you don’t have to self-upgrade. Bear in mind though that Hainan Airlines chooses some pretty hinky hotels for overnights during irregular operations.

  1. Good deal using Biz Plat if you can get these same prices booking through Amex portal. And you’ll earn ~15,600 points ORD-HKG.
