New: Redeem Starwood, Marriott Points for Priority Pass Airport Lounge Membership

Japan Airlines has announced a partnership with Priority Pass to let members redeem 40,000 miles for a Priority Pass Prestige membership.

Starwood points transfer 1:1 into Japan Airlines Mileage Bank, with the usual 5000 mile bonus for transfers into 20,000 miles. So 35,000 Starwood points transfer to 40,000 Japan Airlines miles. (And of course 105,000 Marriott points transfer to 35,000 Starwood points.)

Priority Pass Prestige memberships come with unlimited visits and usually retail for $399. They do not come with free guests.

Priority Pass provides access to over 900 airport lounges, including more than 40 in the U.S..

Unfortunately it’s only a penny per Japan Airlines mile in value, and a little more than 1.1 cents per Starwood point. So I don’t recommend the redemption. But there will be people who take advantage of it.
