Dublin Airport Evacuated, Because Mötley Crüe

Dublin airport isn’t just a great connecting city and a convenient spot or US immigration preclearance (as well as a great place to find award space. It’s ground zero for weird aviation experiences, giving ‘Germany or Florida’ a run for its money. And they’re purists when it comes to St. Patrick’s Day.

A man died onboard a flight to Dublin in the the fall after attacking another passenger. And a passenger recently stripped naked and requested flight attendant sex on a flight that departed from there. It’s also where a male model had $646,000 confiscated.

So it shouldn’t be a surprise that Dublin’s Terminal 2 was evacuated this morning after someone smokin’ in the bathrooms set off an alarm.

A spokesperson for the Airport said that it is standard procedure to evacuate when a smoke alarm is set off.

It is thought it was triggered by a person who was smoking in the toilets at around 8.50am this morning.

They figured things out quickly though since passengers only had to wait outside for 8 minutes.

In 1985, Mötley Crüe of course covered the Brownsville Station hit…

So to whomever you are, with as much sarcasm as I can muster, let me just say.

  1. An Israeli band named T-Slam made a really good cover for this song and later wrote an awesome Hebrew version for it too. Check it out on youtube.

  2. I arrived at DUB just as this incident was over.
The selfish idiot who smoked in a toilet for disabled travellers also pulled the help cord. These selfish idiotic smokers should be fined the cost of the entire delay it cost to fellow travellers and airlines!
Name them and shame them too!
