Passengers at Baggage Claim Greeted by Porn in the Lisbon Airport

Passengers in the baggage claim area of the Lisbon airport early Monday morning were being shown something often restricted to pay per view (or the internet).

The television above one of the carousels was running porn.

For those of you interested, here’s video of the incident (but the actual images are blurred, so this is ‘safe for work’).

An airport spokesman notes, “The situation was corrected promptly. There were no complaints.” Apparently the television was tuned to a channel that just happened to be showing porn, rather than to a porn station. Airport employees were said to be trying to read it for the articles.

  1. Is there any travel-related story which you would not post? In the past couple of days, your are really posting a ton of random travel-related “content” (using the term very loosely).

  2. Oh great, now the Urban Dictionary definition for Bag Humping will have to be updated!

  3. In years past, posts on this blog were pretty limited: 1) food and 2) mostly-interesting value added content (reviews, how to book awards, how to maximize…whatever). The last week in particular, there’s been a bevy of….random travel related “news” (and I use that term unbelievably loosely). This or that transvestite….doing whatever…and they happened to be on an airplane so this makes it fair game to post on View from the Wing.

Again, seems like quite a left turn recently. Bizarre.

  4. One of the worst experiences of my life was in a Marriott when I turned on the tv to find…child porn. Sick images of naked little girls – I will never forget them. Apparently some psycho was using WebTV and my tv was somehow intercepting his signal, too. I called the police and they ended arresting him, but the really scary part was this pedophile was 3 doors down from me and my 8 year old daughter’s room.

  5. An airport spokesman notes, “There were no complaints.”

Does that mean nobody complained about how long it took to claim their luggage?

  6. Contrary to some sentiments above, I rather enjoy these quirky posts, and I know to come here if I want something light hearted.
