Chase Transfers to Korean Air ‘Temporarily Unavailable’ Again

Back in November the ability to transfer Chase points to Korean was suspended. Chase let us know that this would come back. Korean Air said transfers would return in January and indeed they came back on January 25.

So transfers were offline for two whole months.

Unfortunately Korean Air now lists as ‘temporarily unavailable’ again on the Chase Ultimate Rewards website. (HT: Pizza in Motion)

I’ve reached out to Chase to see whether this is a brief technical issue, or an ongoing relationship issue that might take longer to resolve.

In the meantime, fortunately Korean Air is generous with award holds: partner awards can generally be held 5 days, and awards on Korean Air itself can usually be held for months when making an advance booking.

And Chase is no longer the only avenue many have for Korean Air Skypass miles: Korean just became a Starwood transfer partner.

  1. Must be a slow news day! Stop making dramatic posts. Just called them and they did the transfer over the phone. Yawn…Next…

  2. I hope it is just a technical issue and a brief pause in transfer. I need to make a transfer soon for a booking or go with a more expensive route. Yikes!

  3. I hope Mike Miller is correct about getting the transfers done over the phone. My late summer vacation completely depends on this!

  4. I was able to transfer just now by calling Chase as well–an error for the representative was resolved by providing my full name as recorded on my Skypass profile.

  5. @Pegasus: Seriously, what’s up with Chase? I hope it is just a technical issue again. It took me forever to get a Chase Sapphire Card and now I’m not sure if it is worth it now, seeing that Chase keeps suspending transfers.

  6. @Gary Leff: Mr. Leff, I also just logged on to my Chase account. However, I am still seeing the transfers as suspended.
