Free $25 Uber Credit for Existing Users

VNA Flyer reports that promo code ‘roamlikehome’ will add a $25 credit to existing Uber accounts.

Usually credits are either:

  • For first time users only, or
  • City specific

This one appears to work for existing users, independent of location, although no guarantees how long it will continue to work. So existing users just add promo code roamlikehome to your account.

If you aren’t a current Uber user, sign up for a new account using a referral link because both you and the person referring you will get a free ride worth up to $20. Then add promo code roamlikehome to your account for another $25 to use.

I’m not putting my referral link in this post, it’s pretty easy to find one if you’re interested. Normally I’d suggest readers put their own in the comments, but technically it’s against Uber’s rules to post your link to other sites so I won’t encourage it though as always the comments are yours.

  15. Hi I’m Carlos,
    I am visually impaired totally blind and new here.
    I use a screen reader with my computer so it speaks.
    I read that posting for example my uber referral code is not permmited by uber on other peoples blogs.
    So I’m wondering can someone tell me about lyft.
    I found there terms and conditions but could not find anything like I found on uber.
    Being disabled and on limited income it would be helpful if I could post my code and get free rides.
    So if anyone here has info or a link to lyfts official rules please can you reply to my question.

  24. I got the same as the last few posters (Rogers customers only in Canada), but I figured that I might as well add it in case I end up in YYZ next month or something, and then it complained that it was for new users only. Oh well.

  25. Hello all, VNAFlyer here. Many thanks to Gary for sharing this with everyone.

    Sorry for all the confusion. Uber obviously goofed when they created the code and didn’t put in all the restrictions (Canada only, new users only) in the beginning. As a result, when I learned about this, a few friends and I were able to add the code. I haven’t taken a ride myself yet, but one of my friends did (not a new user) and got the discount. That’s when I decided to post the information on my blog.

    I hope there were some earlier users who haven’t posted here but were able to use this code. But as with all good things, it had to come to an end. Hopefully now some new Canadian accounts will be able to benefit.

  26. Not going to push this, but I have a screenshot of the promo code in my Uber account before they changed the terms and it doesn’t say anything about Canada or Rodgers customers only. Any chance Uber will honor?

    Also, looks like they are offering free rides in Maryland this weekend (this is from their email, no credit for me using the code.)

    HOW IT WORKS
    1. Enter the code INNOVATEMD in the app or online.
    2. Begin or end your uberX trip in Montgomery or Prince George’s Counties.
    3. Your ride is FREE up to $20. Limit 2 rides per user.
    4. Valid Friday, Feb 20th at 5:00pm through Sunday, Feb 22nd at 11:59 PM EST.

    Enter the promo code: “uberdrunkdriver”
    $20 will be applied as payment (by default) to you first ride
