$100 Off a Future Hotel When You Book a Flight Through Orbitz

Reader S. shared this deal: book a roundtrip flight and pay via Visa checkout, and get a $100 off hotel coupon.

You have to book a standalone roundtrip ticket, which could be as simple as DC – New York – DC. Then you’ll get a hotel promo code emailed to you. It will be valid for a “prepaid promo code eligible hotel stay” of $100 or more booked by November 23, 2014 for stays completed by June 30.

And of course you earn Orbitz Rewards dollars for both the airline ticket and the hotel. The program generally offers up to 5% back on hotel bookings and 1% on flights (for your first $5000 in purchases in a year).

  1. As with most of these promos the devil is in the details (“fine print”):

Most major chains are excluded; to find participating hotels look for the “PROMO CODE ELIGIBLE” message on Orbitz.com hotel listings.

    Kinda limits the usefulness. 🙁

  2. Having always booked tickets through airline websites, can you tell me if you earn miles from the airline that you fly from a ticket purchased through Orbitz? And for hotel stays booked through Orbitz, do you earn points from the hotel? Thanks.

  3. Just made a booking and received the promo code instantly.question:can you just make a quick hotel booking and cancel the ticket for free(within 24 hrs)?

  4. I booked, too. But did not get the code instantly. I cannot find any restrictions with regards to airlines etc. So I wonder what a qualifying booking is?

  5. For the heck of it, I tried to find a throwaway flight. Cheapest thus far was Dallas-Memphis roundtrip for $66.
