Fantastic Offer: 50,000 Points for American Express Premier Rewards Gold – Now More Widely Available

Key Link: CARDMATCHTM has a 50,000 point offer for the American Express Premier Rewards Gold

Just before Thanksgiving the American Express Premier Rewards Gold card started coming up with a 50,000 point signup bonus (after $1000 in spend within 3 months, $0 annual fee the first year).

I got emails from several readers about this and I did manage to pull up the offer — but I would say that a vast majority of readers trying to get in on the deal were not able to do so. Apparently the targeting criteria was fairly tight.

I’ve since heard from the CardMatch folks and am told things have been tweaked and consumers who might have not been able to see some of these premium offers previously, may now be able to see these more frequently.

The American Express Premier Rewards Gold 50,000 point offer is not available through standard links, you have to see if you are eligible for it using’s CARDMATCHTM.

The standard offer for this card is just 25,000 points. I do not have information about the end date of the offer.

To see if the offer is available to you, go to CARDMATCHTM.

This is not a ‘hard pull’ on your credit.

A year ago I reviewed the American Express Premier Rewards Gold card.

It’s a card that I carry because it earns triple points on airfare, double points at US gas stations and US supermarkets (it’s the best Membership Rewards-earning card), and that the points are extremely flexible — Membership Rewards points transfer into a whole host of points partner programs, and in many cases do so instantly.

I love American Express points best for transfers to Singapore Airlines Krisflyer – since Singapore makes two first class award seats available almost all the time for their own members.

And of course American Express also offers semi-regular transfer promotions where 50,000 points may wind up transferring into 65,000 or even 75,000 miles at times.

It seems well worth jumping on this offer that’s twice as good as usual, especially given the relatively modest bonuses that other American Express cards have had lately.

Since I don’t have my own 50,000 point offer link for the American Express Premier Rewards Gold card — my referral link is for 25,000 points — I direct you to my link for’s CARDMATCHTM.

  1. Still a rock for me. Gary, you may want to mention who is/isn’t eligible for the bonus, as I believe holders of certain other AMEX personal cards aren’t eligible (or something like that).

  2. My husband and I still are not eligible for this offer. I wondered it it was because we had the PRG card 2.5 years ago, but we both do have other Amex cards.

  3. As I have three Amex cards, they probably aren’t going to offer me another, however I was offered a credit card with this exciting feature: “if approved, simply pay a Processing Fee and you could begin enjoying a $300 credit limit”

  4. Still a rock for my wife. I already hold the card but annual fee is coming due so will soon be time to cancel. This card still does not justify it’s ludicrous $175 fee.

@Choi – 3-4 years ago the norm was 10-25k so this remains pretty good.

  5. Will I get the bonus if I am an existing Amex Plat card holder since last summer? Sometimes I read that you cant be an existing card member… Thanks for clarifying.

  6. Got a rock as well… have been waiting for an offer on this specific card for a while. I currently have a Delta AmEx, maybe that’s the knock?

  7. @Gene here’s the thing — earlier it seemed like a majority of Amex cardholders weren’t eligible. Today I was told that it would be offered to many more folks than before, people were pretty interested in the offer, so I passed that along. I did manage to get it to come up. But I didn’t have enough data points to come up with the answer.

  8. @Connie Marble – clicking the link gets me nothing. If you apply and are approved through something I do get credit (as I mention in the post).

  9. I’m pretty sure that this bonus offer is not available to current holders of a Green, Gold, or Platinum card, nor people who had one of those cards in the past three months. That would explain why quite a few of your readers won’t see it.

  10. Apologies for the number of folks not being offered the card — I had been told that more folks would be getting the premium card offers from the site than a couple of weeks ago.

  11. No dice. Only offers were for CapOne & “FirstPremier”?? (seriously, they think I need a $300 card?) I’ve got the BRG, 2 SPGs, Delta, & Mercedes Plat.

  12. Have had good luck previously on amex cards on cardmatch (got the 45k Delta offer), but nothing on this one. Have an spg card only.

  13. I notice your ss number is now required before it’ll show any results. Used to be able to just leave that blank and it would still show you your results. Apparently not anymore. Wonder why…

  14. Seems like a good go-to card if approved – I’ve been looking for another AMEX product in anticipation of canceling by Business Plat Amex now the US/AA lounge offer is going away.

  15. Nothing other than useless BoA and Cap One junk.

PRG is the very best Amex card offered because of that lovely 2x at gas/grocery. Those who say the $175 AF is “absurd” have no clue what they yammer about.

  16. Nothing for me too. I have the Business version, and would have liked to open the personal so i can switch over my MR points and avoid paying the AF for another year… The only personal AMEX card I have is the Hilton Hhonors one.

  17. Nothing over here either. Tried it a few weeks ago and nothing as well. Last AMEX card I have was from 5 years ago.
