Hilton’s First Quarter Bonus – Registration Open for Double Points or Double Miles

Registration is now open for Hilton HHonors’ first quarter promotion — your choice (choose when you register and you cannot change later) of double points or double miles between January 7 and March 31.

There’s a really long list of non-participating hotels, almost all in the United States.

It’s not an especially exciting promotion, doesn’t make sense to move stays over to Hilton as a result of the bonus in most cases, but is certainly worth registering in case you have Hilton stays — better to earn the bonus for those stays than not to earn the bonus.

  1. […] View From The Wing is reporting that registration is open for Hilton’s promo.  They’re offering either double points or miles on all stays through the end of the March, and the promo starts the earliest of all the above on January 7th.  Fans of the Hilton program enjoy the flexibility of the existing Double Dip options.  So, doubling that up is good for loyal members of the HHonors program, but not specifically motivating for me.  Besides, when I tried to register, the system told me I wasn’t eligible to register online, directing me to a customer care number.  I don’t need too may hurdles to avoid directing business their way. 1. Gary – How have you set up your points/miles earnings on your HH account: points + points; points + variable miles; or points + fixed miles?

  2. @Helena Smith – I vary my earning preference based on the price and length of the stay. Cheap, short stays = points + fixed miles. Expensive longer stays = points + points.

  3. @Gary,
“doesn’t make sense to move stays over to Hilton as a result of the bonus in most cases”.
I have a feeling that Q1 promotions may be very unexciting.

  4. This is a decent promotion on Hilton’s part and helps in building up HHonors points. A Diamond selecting points and points as their earning style would earn 30 points per dollar spent. This is much better than the 1000 bonus points promo for Quarter 4.
