Le club Accorhotels frequently offers their top tier elite status just for signing up with the program, they’ll market it to a specific group of potential customers but anyone using the offer winds up able to sign up and get the status.
The same Platinum offer that I’ve been posting about since February still works.
I wrote that it was scheduled to last through end of May, but that I assumed it would be pulled early. It’s still going.

Even if you don’t frequently stay at Sofitel, Novotel, Pullman, Mercure, and oter related properties frequently, you never know when you might find yourself in one and having top tier status can’t hurt.
Platinum status usually requires 60 nights or 25,000 points earned. It offers double points and at Sofitel, Pullman and MGallery hotels a complimentary drink and welcome gift, and subject to availability and on request 4pm late checkout and an upgrade.
Some folks get an error message signing up for a new Platinum account through these links, just refresh the page.
They’ll only let you sign up for one account per email address, so if opening a new account use a new email address. Some then combine their old and new accounts to preserve their points while elevating themselves to the new status.
The program isn’t among the more rewarding, but given that it’s top tier it can also be useful for status matching to other hotel programs, although some like Hyatt have begun asking to see not just a top tier elite card but also stay activity with a program. A status match offer like Best Western’s on the other hand can usually be obtained without demonstrated stay activity attached to a top tier elite account.

It didn’t work for me. Came through as classic.
Had a friend get Plat status through this, but when he tried to combine his old+new accounts, they tried to verify he was indeed targeted by the Plat status offer. YMMV!
Cup with an error about invalid promo. Refreshed it, continued the entry. At the end of the account is labelled a Classic. Oh well.

The “still works” February link gave Classic. Dale’s link gave Platinum.
I keep receiving the following error:
“Invalid identification. Please try again and make sure the information you enter is correct. E-mail addresses with @accor.com and related domains are not accepted.”
I’ve tried multiple email addresses and multiple browsers. Can’t get past the screen where it asks for your email. 🙁
The original February offer didn’t work for me last time around, but the other link worked like a charm. I don’t know if I’ll try combining this with my old account as I don’t have many point anyway, but it’ll be marginally useful on those occasions where I am forced to stay at a Sofitel.

Classic only for me.
I did the earlier link, got platinum status, so booked a couple of stays at a Mercure near the Jakarta/Bangkok offices. Nothing- no upgrade, no recognition, not even a friendly nod from the front desk. Checking the website, I see I got just what I was entitled to under the program.
I did get double points, but the accumulation rate is a joke, and the points expire in a year. There’s no way I’m going to accumulate the additional 8+ stays it would take to earn a $60 off coupon.
All in all, you get what you pay for here- I think it’s a waste of time to even sign up, unless you are looking at an unavoidable Accor stay.
I signed up on Gary’s link and got classic. Used the other link and got Plat.
Dale M’s link worked perfectly for Plat status… now to get some matched statuses that actually mean something…

BTW…the Sofitel Hua Hin ranks as just about my all-time favorite setting if you’re thinking about Thailand. It was a former Thai Royal family retreat and you feel like royalty there!
