  1. before there’s a bunch of call center bashing.

    It does go back to training and experience. I know one company I deal with switched their call center overseas and at the beginning it was awful; the people answering the phone had no clue what they were doing. After about 6 months they got a little experience and now they do as well as when they were here in the states

  2. I don’t understand why those jobs can’t stay rite here in the good ol’ US of A! Especially with the economy in the tank and what not. There should be laws making air companies keep jobs in the US. I don’t care about cheapness costs and stuff–Don’t they love our country?

  3. In the past I have worked as an agent in large call centers for an airline and two travel management companies. Two things that would really get us in deep trouble were spending too much time on calls and how many calls had to be escalated, or in their view, that you could not handle. If calls were in queue then we were expected to answer a new call right away and finish the previous calls travel itinerary later. Problem was most often there were always calls in queue and they don’t like to pay overtime.
