In 2016, the island nation’s police reported 135 total days without any crimes including snatch-theft, house break-ins and robbery. That low crime rate means many small businesses enjoy little concern about shoplifting.
In fact, as CNBC recently observed, many local businesses take few precautions when closing shop at night.
For instance, in the ground floor lobby of a mixed-use building in the downtown business district, many shops don’t have windows, locks — or even doors.
A Starbucks located in Raffles Place, one of Singapore’s busiest underground train stations has no formal doors. Rather, a small rope indicates when the store is closed, and merchandise is all still displayed and within an arm’s length of commuters.

Buzz Aldrin is an amazing human being.
BUT, anyone can become cranky unreasonable old person, even him.
Alzheimer’s (and perhaps Namenda side effects) turned my Mom into a MEAN and quite different person, before her brain unravelled.
They lost pilots smoke, so its about time passengers can use their cell phones.
How do we know he really landed on the moon, just sayin… 🙂
It is great that Buzz Aldrin is still around and kicking. I was unable to view the video here in China. However none of us is perfect, and nothing should diminish the respect and admiration we have for him.
About 20 years ago I was blessed to have the honor of working with Neil Armstrong from time to time. He was incredibly modest, down to earth (ironically), and a very private person. Men like Armstrong and Aldrin are/were the epitome of the “right stuff.” Would I rather work with Neil Armstrong or any president of the United States? No contest. There is only one person in the history of the world who was the first to land a craft and walk on an extraterrestrial body.
