So this happened.
Cadet at Vladimir Putin’s top pilot training college have caused scandal after footage of them wearing BDSM costumes while writhing to music in their digs emerged.
More than a dozen half-naked male cadets from Ulyanovsk Civil Aviation Institute are seen dancing to the club track Satisfaction by DJ Benny Benassi.
Their performance was captioned: ‘Why you better not fly on planes’, before being retitled: ‘How pilots entertain themselves between flights’.
The head of the institute’s disciplinary department claims to be disgusted. The region’s governor “announced a special commission had been set up to examine the video.” At the same time, appearing to deflect the incident from Vladimir Putin, the governor points out that the pilot training academy was set up by Stalin in 1935.
Pilots aren’t supposed to let attractive passengers join them up front. Even when the passenger is a porn star. Or a Playboy Bunny. They’re supposed to fly the plane not film flight attendants having sex, look at porn in the cockpit, or check Facebook. Let alone this.
But what they do on the ground when not in class doesn’t concern me so much. As long as they pay attention in the cockpits of Aeroflot and S7 this doesn’t bother me. However locally this is controversial, file under the culture that is Russia that this is a thing but when it goes public officials must appear to be outraged.

I think this is absolutely hilarious!
First off, why did you call it “Putin’s top pilot school” and not Russia’s top pilot school???
Also, don’t we have enough hazing and bullying at our schools, colleges, and military academies to be concerned about what the Russians are doing?
Russia is intensely homophobic so all the more surprising that these cadets would act this way. Good for them. I’m concerned that they may get severely punished for their silly fun.

Fun and letting off steam –seems good to see them break that dour Russia stereotype probably from a rigid no nonsense school. BUT they look awfully young to be near pilot status !
