I’m surprised that MSG doesn’t want a new building regardless what’s underneath it, with the prestige of the events held there and the pressure from other cities putting up crazy new arenas it’s a wonder that such an old building is still viable. I haven’t been in Penn Station in about a decade now, with kids it has been easier and cheaper to drive in and park to visit from LI than it is to take the train. But even in the mid 1990s when I was a regular through Penn it was a wreck. What a shame for such a potentially grand place…
