Over the summer Boeing pulled off some spectacular art with a 787 — drawing a 787 in the sky with the route that it flew.

It’s not the first time they’ve done this.

Back in 2014 Boeing flew a giant 12 over Washington State in a 747 painted with Seattle Seahawks livery. In 2012 Boeing flew a 787 and wrote out ‘787 and Boeing’s logo in the sky.

And other pilots have gotten even more creative.

Today Airbus offered a Christmas gift with an A380 test flight taking off and landing back at Hamburg airport and drawing a Christmas tree in the sky.

They had to fly anyway, and weren’t actually going anywhere, so I love that they had some fun with it.
