- United is adding seats to their Boeing 777-200s (going 10-across in coach) as they replace business class with Polaris seats. That’s not surprising, they’ll be about as dense overall as American and Delta’s planes are. What struck me is that they aren’t going to add a premium economy cabin at the same time.

- The American Express Centurion Lounge at Dallas Fort-Worth airport changed up their photo of Meatloaf. I’m told it happened a few months ago, which just goes to show that the lounge is so busy now I don’t bother going anymore. I’m skeptical that a new lounge 3000 square feet larger will be enough…
- I’m bothered by the knockoff stroopwafels in the American Airlines snack basket. Stroopwafels are a United thing, and should be respected.
- The banh mi at DFW’s gate D10 Banh Shop aren’t as good as you’d hope, but they’re better than you’d expect.
Why not just get a banh mi the night before at some local place and bring it with you through security? If you have a good local spot then banh mi from last night will probably be better than airport banh mi at half the price. I always do this when flying out of SJC, though I realize Texas cities are too spread out for this to be easy for a lot of people.
What sort of Premium Economy cabin do you mean?
It sure looks like the first 7/8 rows of Y is E+. That’s as premiumy as it gets for UA, DL, etc. Isn’t it?
What am I missing? Are you expecting them to do something different?
Nonetheless, when talking about United fleet updates, it’s like the old Zager and Evans song .. nothing will really happen until the year 2525. By the time the Polaris seat updates hit the entire fleet, they will probably be obsolete. (Assuming they ever figure out their manufacturing issues.)

Both AA and DL are in the processing of introducing a true premium economy product on international long-hauls in addition to their extra leg-room sections.
It IS somewhat surprising that United wouldn’t do the same.

Only one company can make a particular type of confectionary product? I suppose the comment was tongue in cheek, but it seems to me if AA is adding something that is tasty, good for them. There are plenty of real problems with AA to talk about.
They sell that stroopwafel brand at Starbucks…I actually find them better, not as sticky sweet as the UA ones
Looks like I’ll grab Banh Mi rather than hit the AMEX lounge…each time I go in there now it’s packed and dirty…
