The Sheraton Atlanta Airport closed July 23. It was sold to the city and will be demolished as part of an airport expansion project.
Starting Thursday, and for two weeks, all the furniture inside will be tagged and priced to sell. The liquidation, run by Hotel Content Liquidators LLC, will unload all the furnishings first come, first served.
Room at a Sheraton
Maybe You Need Furniture to Serve Your Guests From?
When a place becomes familiar it becomes an extension of you, and in a way an extension of your living room. There are hotels that I actually feel, deep inside. I’ve spent so much time there, they’re familiar to me, and they contain memories.
Many regular guests feel more at home in a hotel than they do when they’re not on the road. The bathrooms in the condo I own in Northern Virginia and now rent out were designed to feel like several of the modern hotel bathrooms I’ve seen, my wife found the perfect glass vanities with bowl sinks, the shower tiles we like, and shower systems that we’ve liked the best. I use coffee mugs I first found at the Andaz 5th Avenue.
Here’s the recipe for the 5th Avenue Andaz’s lemon poppyseed pancakes. I’ve gotten the recipe for the Park Hyatt Vendome’s bircher muesli.
A decade ago I bought a W bed, before price increases and on sale and back when the beds from the W Hotel Store seemed of much higher quality. Truth is I think I like Sheraton Sweet Sleeper beds better.
So if you ever wanted your home to to be like a generic Sheraton now is your chance.
