Earn United Miles While Filing Your Taxes for Free

In the bible, Joseph established the world’s first flat tax — a 20% rate on agricultural production. Leviticus describes the world’s first tax cut – the rate was dropped to 10% after the Hebrew Exodus.

But the first time I recall earning miles for taxes was a MileagePlus credit card offer of 5000 miles for any tax payment a dozen years ago. I didn’t owe any taxes but made a $1 tax deposit with my United Visa for the miles.

Nothing so lucrative, but you can now earn miles for filing rather than just paying your taxes.

The United MileagePlus shopping portal is offering 250 miles for filing your taxes with Turbotax online.

And the free version of Turbotax counts.

Death and taxes are inevitable. And you don’t earn miles for dying.

  1. Any way to get the bonus if you use paper return but use the Turbotax product (which I already bought)?

I’m one of those superstitious ones who believe filing online increases your audit chances.
