Kate Middleton Flies Commercial. And You Travel Better Than She Does!

British Airways offers a pretty mediocre intra-European business class. But they haven’t lost the loyalty of the British royals.

Kate Middleton, the the Duchess of Cambridge, visited the Netherlands on her first solo international trip as a member of the British royal family. She returned home on British Airways.

Middleton Maven tweeted,

Her father was a flight dispatcher and her mother a flight attendant for British Airways, so she knows how important it is to get the bulkhead when flying British Airways Club Europe.

It’s the only place on the plane with acceptable legroom. British Airways intra-European business class doesn’t offer more legroom than coach in any other row.

Her husband Prince William opts for the bulkhead when flying British Airways as well. Of course, he’s used to slumming it, last year he flew Ryanair. Two years ago he flew American Airlines coach Memphis – Dallas and he flew the US Airways Shuttle in first.

  1. Someday I hope to see a USA “First Family” fly commercial. The President should fly on Air Force One, but there’s no reason why you can’t put the rest of the family on a commercial flight with a couple of Secret Service agents. It would send a valuable message.

  2. I love ❤️ this couple. I’m praying that they keep stable and continue to represent dignity and class for the world. Noblesse oblige

  3. She did not fly the Airbus A320-family with the seating you illustrate.

The photo is clearly of an Embraer regional jet, which flies Amsterdam to London City Airport.

Club Europe on these flights is even worse – the same 2-2 seating as economy, with no blocked middle!
