Yesterday Wow Air announced that they’re moving Stockholm service to the area’s main Arlanda International Airport (ARN) effective November 18 and they dropped some amazing sale fares to promote the service.
In fact, they have $99 one-ways from Boston, Newark, and Baltimore (BWI) to Stockholm. Wow Air services Los Angeles and San Francisco as well, though fares run a comparably ‘expensive’ ~ $178. This is available in late November, early December and then January through March at least one day a week.

Book the return from $115, so you’re looking at $214 roundtrip.
Flights are via Reykjavik. Wow air is a low cost carrier, so expect fees or everything.

If you travel super light, and don’t especially care where you sit on the plane, you can get some pretty amazing fares for US-Europe travel without the need for a pricing glitch. But if you’re super-vigilant there have been enough airfare sales on legacy airlines that you might prefer to wait for the next one with fewer fees. I shoot for discounted business class and upgrades myself but many readers are just looking to travel and the prices here are super cheap.
Wow. What a terrible deal. LLC with ala carte pricing that would only appeal to first time, leisure only travelers.

You’re doing extra math there, and doing it in the wrong direction. The chart shows “max. 10kg (22 lbs.)”. Still not huge, but far more reasonable than 11 pounds.
I pointed out the new 10kg weight limit to The Flight Deal yesterday—they confirmed that until recently WOW’s limit was indeed 5kg, but it’s changed. That’s a big improvement.
I can travel off 10kg indefinitely (did three weeks in Asia and Europe last year out of a 10kg bag). 5kg? No way. 🙂
