HOT FARE: San Francisco – Vietnam for $386 Roundtrip ($55 Base Fares)

SkyTeam member and Delta partner China Eastern has roundtrips from $386 between San Francisco and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in September and October.

Travel is in economy (you won’t be upgrading this deal) via Shanghai.

China Eastern has actually filed fares that are $54.50 each way plus taxes and surcharges. That’s pretty incredible.

Book with airfare metasearch site Momondo or your favorite airline booking site.

It’s worth a visit to the Presidential Palace and to have some great Pho in Ho Chi Minh City.

This is a great opportunity for budget travelers to fly to Southeast Asia on the cheap if you can make the limited dates work!

  1. After Lucky’s review of the comically bad service – in Business – I would pass on any deals from MU.

  2. I fail to understand why there are all these gasps of surprise at the “base fare” (sic) The base fare could easily be $0.01 and what would it matter as long as there are surcharges added to the final cost. The airlines have found a way to dodge paying taxes on fares, and are making most of their money on non-taxable surcharges and fees. How is that of any benefit to the person buying the ticket?

I’d strongly advise that anyone thinking of booking with MU read Lucky’s post on his first flight with them. And as Ted pointed out, that “very surprising experience” was in J. Hard to imagine what y would be like. Let’s just leave it at $386 R/T might be more that it’s worth. 😉

Uhhhhh. How about less than $400 to get to SE Asia in under 24-hours with two bags being a solid deal any way you slice it?

  4. However, the booking class Q, doesn’t even come up in the Delta earning qualification website. So how many MQM could you earn?

  5. Oh, this Pho has onion and served with bean sprouts. In Hanoi or northern Vietnam, we don’t use onion in Pho and not served with bean sprouts. Just scallions, meat and squeeze lemon to Pho.
