  1. Gary. With tumors/ discussions between UAL and Delta buying Avianca how are Lifemiles likely treated after the merger?

    Any interesting arb opportunities buying Lifemiles?

  2. @Hungry Joe – at this point it’s just about taking a stake in the airline, not a merger or total takeover. That would affect the airline more than the frequent flyer program. The frequent flyer program is a separate independent entity with a substantial stake owned by an outside hedge fund. That could be acquired in the future too although it is not currently under discussion. If Avianca left Star as a result of future Delta ownership, then LifeMiles would no longer access Star inventory. Any such speculation is WAY off in the future.
