100,000 Point Platinum Card Signup Bonus Not Targeted

Covered broadly, writing this without a stable internet connection, want to make sure folks don’t miss it. (Expired)

The offer is 100,000 points after $3000 in spend within first 3 months of cardmembership. Naturally not available to anyone who has the card or has had it in the past.

Discussion at:

I expect this to be a very short-lived offer for a card that I carry.

  1. Can I get the bonus for this if i have the premier rewards gold, everyday preferred and amex plat (authorized user)

  2. If you already have the plat. Then no. I don’t know why the person said yes. Your already existing card holder. But you can go incognito and apply for another card and get it. As long as they don’t recognize you as current platinum card holder. But it will not be easy.

  3. I’m sure I’ve read the answer to this before, but:

Are all AmEx Platinum varieties treated as the same when it comes to applying? I still have the Ameriprise and will probably just keep it, but is the regular, non Ameriprise AmEx Platinum considered a different card?

  4. Talk about short lived, the offer is gone already. I looked at it last night and saw it, this morning it’s gone…

  5. I saw the offer today in the morning and it was still available. It was only for the personal card unfortunately.

  6. @Doug,

I was just approved for this 100K offer and I have the Ameriprise – so I am confident it will be fine.

  7. Gary, thank you so much for even doing a quick post about this while only having a spotty internet connection, as I do from here in Kathmandu. Thankfully, being ~10hrs ahead, I saw this early and pounced, yet never would have known without your heads-up (I have become very tired of those linked to; yet your excellence continues to provide outsized value –just don’t devalue because of that! 😉 ) Again, thank you. I truly appreciate it.

Anyone reading this: trekking in the Kumbhu is unbelievably amazing, including to Everest Base Camp, plus some high passes. It’s a very, very special area… *A reward ticket, as well…and this 6+ft dude survived very well, indeed, in coach. Although, I must admit, the many airport lounges did help considerably. Cheers!
