IHG Launching “Share Forever” Promotion Tomorrow — and You Can Share Points With Yourself

Starting tomorrow, IHG and Coca-Cola are back with their ‘Share Forever’ promotion.

  • Limited to members in the Americas
  • Registration required (which will open tomorrow at shareforever.ihg.com)

We don’t know the details of the promotion yet, though it will presumably be similar to last year’s.

  • Earn 500 bonus points after one night during the promotio period (last year’s was May 1 through September 7)
  • Earn more bonus points, and free nights, based on a targeted set of additional nights
  • Gift rewards to friends and family

Last year you had various thresholds of a certain number of stays to get points for yourself and to gift to someone else. These are targeted offers, so the specific points and stays required will vary.

Note that while the idea is that you can earn points yourself and share points with others, you can share points with yourself instead of someone else.

Last year’s promotion offered between 68,500 and 115,500 bonus points plus a maximum 58,500 bonus points to share or keep.

  4. Thanks for the heads up on this promotion, Gary! Mine maxes out at 105,000 for 43 stays, with 1000 points to share after 1 night, and a free night to share after 15 nights.

  5. Did this last year and was never able to get the shared points to post. I DO NOT TRUST IHG. They have not proven themselves trustworthy, and I would encourage everyone to avoid their program and their promotions.

  6. Tom, IHG points from promotions do not post reliably, almost ever. However, an email has always made things right for me. I even just submitted 8 instances of missing elite Welcome Bonus Points, all which were posted, no muss no fuss.

  7. Can someone tell me how they come up with the number of nights and points? I need 38 nights for only 87800 points. With 5 more nights, James gets 105000 points. On other sites, people posted over 60000 points with only about 24 nights. Any comments? So far, it seems like I am getting the worst deal.

    Once the dashboard is updated, you may share the 1,000 points to your friend or relative who is also a member of IHG Rewards Club. Please be reminded that the bonus points to share could not be shared to your own account.
