Having Better Sex on Vacation, and Tourism Boom Causes Cuban Beer Shortage

News and notes from around the interweb:

  • Vacations mean a better sex life. Well, duh!

  • Former executives of Skyteam member China Southern plead guilty to accepting bribes

  • United has a really good targeted offer to purchase miles. When you buy United miles before April 25 you’ll earn a bonus, and the amount shown varies by member (so you have to see your offer). Some members get a 100% bonus which reduces the cost to purchase 150,000 miles to 1.88 cents including all taxes, which is the lowest I’ve seen United miles offered. (HT: Loyalty Lobby) Unfortunately I was only offered a bonus of up to 50% which isn’t tempting.

  • TSA now only operates security checkpoints until 8pm in Atlantic City, regardless of flight operations there. (HT: Paul B.)

{P]assengers are fuming that they must arrive at the airport hours earlier than their flight departure and cannot leave the airport if their flights are delayed. Others have missed commercial flights because they arrive at the airport late and there are no TSA screeners.

“If a flight is going to be delayed, it’s crazy to be told to get here four hours in advance and not be able to leave..”

  • The rise in US tourism has caused Cuba to face a shortage of beer

“Private bars can go out and find supplies where they can, I can only sell what the government gives me,” said the manager of a state-run bar that ran out of beer, while a private locale upstairs had a fridge full of cold bottles.

  • A former Emirates flight attendant shares some of her craziest stories.
