I’ve confirmed the details with Hyatt, Lucky’s correct, between April 1 and June 30 Gold Passport members will be able to register and stay for up to 75,000 bonus points.

Hyatt hasn’t had a promotion since September. Hotels are generally full, and that’s certainly a part of it, but they transitioned to a new CRM in December and I have to imagine the timing of when that project would happen played a role in whether or not to offer something at the end of the year. And that they wanted to have any data issues ironed out before layering on a promotion, and perhaps needed to do live testing of things like registration and sweeps as well to make sure a new promotion would function properly.
My 187 year award stay at the Grand Hyatt Bangkok notwithstanding, I take it as a sign they’re confident in the new systems.
And this is a great, rich promotion. Recent Gold Passport offers have involved different targeted promotions for different members. This one is open to everyone. And for those who max out the 25 nights it means an average of 3000 bonus points per night. Based on the value of miles that’s worth $42 per night. Which is yuge. Especially since it’s on top of regular points-earning, and valid at even the cheapest of Hyatt properties.
In fact, it’s good enough that if you’ve done 20 nights and earned 50,000 bonus points it could even be worth mattress-running the final 5 nights for 25,000 more bonus points (since that would be a rebate from the bonus alone of $70 per night). And certainly if you’re at 22 or 23 nights mattress runs would be in order. There aren’t too many promotions where the incentive is that great.
75,000 points are enough for 3 nights in a category 6 hotel like the Park Hyatt Hadahaa, Maldives or the Andaz Maui.

What’s brilliant about this is it’s lucrative enough to make me want to take a pause from other hotel stays I might have booked. There haven’t been many promotions rich enough to actually get me to shift business, as opposed to just being good things worth signing up for because more points are better than fewer points.

@James K – For weekly business travelers, 10-15 nights a month is common. So switching to Hyatt for 25 nights is easily achievable.
This promo is better than NO promo, which is what we’ve had from Hyatt for the last two quarters. I’m only going to muster about 10 nights, maybe, but 5k or 15k points is infinitely (literally) better than nothing.

It looks like a great promotion but I am so glad I don’t spend 25 nights out of my house in a 3 month period.
Will bookings made prior to promo enrollment but that occur during the promo period count??? Or only bookings made after enrollment in promo?

@MarkBOS we haven’t seen the promo terms yet. Generally Hyatt hasn’t excluded reservations made prior to registration. However they have a new CRM so I can’t make promises. I’d highly doubt though that they will exclude preexisting reservations.
@Santastico sadly I’ve got about 140 hotel nights a year, so if I swing the bulk of my nights to one program during a promo like this I do!

Sure there have. Stay any at Wadorf Astoria or Conrad and earn points on 4 stackable promos, yup, four, including the global Q1 double points/stay promo. There has got to be another reason why you have not shifted your business… 😉
Great news. I agree this sounds like a pretty good promotion. I will definitely be booking some more hotel nights at Hyatt.
Sorry for this question, but if you stay the night of the 30th of June and check out the morning of July 1, would that count as one of the nights?
Great promotion…. but it seems to me it’s directed at people who do a ton of business travel. I’m a leisure traveler, so those 25 nights are spread out through the year. So for me, this is a meh promo…
Vegas here I come – June – great timing with vacation. Back in USA this summer. Was thinking of ditching the Hyatt Diamond status this year, but now… I’ve got an incentive.
don’t get the excitement about this promotion, nor do I follow the skewed math assumptions. Far easier to get 1k pnts by mere $1k worth of business (gc) on a Chase Ink card than pay for 5 mights at Hyatt properties. but hey, for those of you who live on the roads, with tons of expense accounts, well, know yourselves out.
