$20 Uber Credit for Existing Riders

I received an email this morning that Visa is offering a $20 statement credit for your next Uber ride if you make a grocery purchase with your linked Visa by Sunday, February 7. Despite the marketing language, that purchase needs to be from Whole Foods.

Here’s how it works:

Though there are references to ‘a grocery purchase’ the marketing text in the email I received makes it look to me like the purchase must be from Whole Foods Market.

Don’t go hungry on game day. Shop by Sunday 2/7 at Whole Foods Market and get a statement credit of up to $20 on your next ride. Just pay for both with any eligible Visa credit card.

And that seems to be supported by these terms so the language of the promotion could certainly be clearer.

To be eligible for the offer you either need to:

  1. Have a Visa card linked to your Uber account when you log into Uber and accept the offer
  2. Or add a Visa at the time you activate the offer

Accept the offer, use your registered Visa for a purchase at Whole Foods by Sunday, and then take your next Uber ride by December 31, 2018 charged to the card to receive a statement credit.

There’s a Slickdeals discussion of the offer as well.

Comments

  1. There are different versions of the offer out there, with and without Whole Foods. Mine specifically states “any US grocery store” in the offer itself and in the Ts & Cs – no mention of Whole Foods.

  2. logged into phone and laptop, but I don’t see a place to accept the offer. Is this targeted with a popup- if not where do you find the offer?

  3. How do you get this offer? I have a Visa card linked to my Uber account but have nothing there about this promotion

  4. I think it says in the Slickdeals explanation that you had to have received the offer via email. I didn’t — and my son uses my account all the time. No fair!

  5. I don’t see the promotion in my Uber account. Do you need to receive the email in order to qualify? Or does everyone qualify?

  6. I got the email from them – but when I go into the UBER app, I have no notifications from them. I’m wondering if this is geo-targeted as my account is based out of NYC, but I’m currently traveling and in SAT right now. I emailed Uber Support last night & haven’t received a response back from them yet.

  7. It is (apparently) targeted with a pop-up, and evidently there are multiple versions going around. I received an email about it, which did not reference Whole Foods anywhere and said “any US grocery store”. After I got the email I opened the app, and the offer popped up immediately and I clicked “accept”. There’s no promo code. It does appear under my notifications, along with the list of Visa cards that are registered/eligible.

  8. Shop by Sunday 2/7 at Whole Foods Market and get a statement credit of up to $20 on your next ride. Where is this information?
