1000 Free Miles Just for Entering Spirit’s 1.6 Billion Mile Jackpot

Their pitch is that if you didn’t win the powerball jackpot, you still need to get the best deal on airfare. So you’ve got 29 inch seat pitch and no TSA PreCheck in your future.

If you won a cut of last night’s $1.6 billion jackpot, you can now afford to fly those much more expensive airlines. For the rest of us, we’re still all about saving money on air travel. Don’t worry, though. Your luck hasn’t run out just yet. Spirit has a jackpot of their own – 1,600,000,000 miles! That’s 1.6 BILLION. The best part? Everyone can win.

All you have to do is enter your name and Free Spirit frequent flyer number in their form, and you’ll get 1000 miles posted within 14 days.

However,

  • Spirit’s miles expire after 90 days of inactivity unless you have their co-branded credit card and charge to it every month (although presumably charging somewhat less frequently can meet the 90 day requirement).
  • Some airlines have close-in redemption fees. Spirit’s fees start within 180 days of travel.
  • They do not have redemption partners. The reward for traveling on Spirit is… more travel on Spirit.

  1. I always redeem my Spirit promo miles for magazines. There are some available at under 1,000 points, though most cost more than that.
