United’s New Meaningless Guarantee, More Business Class Award Space to Europe, and More

  • Delta has a new performance guarantee for corporate contract customers that’s written in a way that they’re unlikely to have to ever pay out. So it should come as no surprise that United is introducing one as well (HT: S.)

    United’s will award credits for delays and cancellations that can only be used for ancillary fees and upgrades, rather than providing real cash rebates.

    United’s senior vice president of worldwide sales, Dave Hilfman, estimates that the likelihood the carrier will have to pay anything is “slim to none.”
