Giveaway: London 3-Bedroom Apartment Stay Plus Incredible Deals on Chartering a Yacht, and a Week in a Greek Villa

Luxury Travel Diary, a high-end travel blog with great reviews based in the UK, has a bunch of travel auctions — some about to close, others extend into October — and there look to be some real bargains.

They wanted to highlight some of these, and offered to help organize a giveaway of a 3 night stay in a 3-bedroom luxury apartment in Knightsbridge, London for readers of this blog. Details on how to comment on this post to win below.

Folks who already know about these auctions won’t like the added attention, because frankly there aren’t enough bidders relative to the value of the offerings and some of these items go too cheap.

Here are some great auction values ending soon:

Check out the full details on each before bidding to make sure availability matches when you can travel. There’s page after page of auctions to scroll through, generally nice places that regularly appear to be selling for much less than they should.

Prize: a three-night stay in a luxury apartment in Knightsbridge, London at The Ovington Elegance – subject to availability, stay by April 28 (excluding December 25-27, December 31-January, and March 25-26).

The Ovington Elegance is a superb, luxury Three Bedroom Three Bathroom serviced apartments right on Brompton Road in the heart of London’s Knightsbridge. Two minutes’ walk from Harrod’s store and other exclusive shopping in the immediate area and with easy access to Knightsbridge and South Kensington tube stations, The Ovington Elegance has all of the luxury features and comfort you need for your central London stay backed up by London Lifestyle Apartment’s hospitality and care to ensure that you fully enjoy your visit to London.

London, like Paris, is one of those cities where a residential apartment is a great option for visitors. I tend to book hotels because I have so many points, but coming out of pocket living like a local can be uniquely appealing. This property looks lovely and in a great location — and while not cheap it’s a real value for three bedrooms!

To enter: leave a comment on this post with your favorite item up for auction at Luxury Travel Diary, or why you would choose to stay at The Ovington Elegance luxury apartment in Knightsbridge over other hotels in London. You may enter two times if you wish and answer those two questions one time each in separate comments.

Contest deadline and drawing winner: Entries close Thursday, December 3 at Noon eastern. I will draw winner with the assistance of random.org.

The fine print: For avoidance of doubt I have no affiliation with either Luxury Travel Diary or The Ovington Elegance luxury apartment. I will put the winner in touch with the hotel for booking. They are solely responsible for providing prize to winner. All decisions made in the course of running this giveaway are final and unappealable and your entry signifies your acceptance. The goal here is to make readers aware of a pretty cool auction opportunity, and to give away an apartment stay in London. So please don’t make it hard on me for doing so!

  1. I’ll take the 7 nights for 8 people at a Greek villa! Never been to Greece, but would love to go

  2. I would love to stay at THE OVINGTON ELEGANCE because it looks amazing and the location is a perfect spot to explore London.

  3. Why would I choose the Ovington? Because it’s not a hotel, but rather a way to experience London in the best way possible – by staying in an upscale apartment and in the absolute shopping center of London (some would say of the world).

If I win I will treat my wife and myself a trip to London in First Class (using my BA companion pass) and stay there for 3 days of luxury just to shop. Yes, I know I won’t be able to afford much, maybe lunch at Harrods or tea at Fortnum & Mason’s.

About 40 years ago we were once offered a night at a very fancy Mayfair apartment owned by some friends of my in-laws and the doorman didn’t want to let us in until he had verified with the owners (despite our having keys) – and then he hung around outside the apartment door for a couple of hours (making sure we weren’t going to slip off with a van Gogh or something).

  4. The Yacht Charter looks like a lot of fun. I looked a tall of the offerings. Lots of cool opportunities.

  5. For me, the Caribbean yacht charter is the clear winner, though there are quite a few that I will keep in mind in the future.

  6. My favorite item in the auction is the stay at the Hotel Minho in Northern Portugal.
I would love to stay at the Ovington Elegance because of its great location and sophisticated decor.

  7. The apt look beautiful and seems to be in the middle of everywhere! It would be perfect for a first timer in London like me!

  8. Favorite auction item will be “2 NIGHTS AT THE GRAND HYATT SINGAPORE”. I have friends and family there but never been there yet. Would love to visit and enjoy the food and warm weather!

  9. My favorite auction is this “5 NIGHTS AT NIRAMAYA RESORT & SPA, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA” I am a Southwestern farmer that has never been to Australia. This website has some very nice choices.

Thanks for sharing this with us!

  10. I would love to be able to purchase some quality cooking ingredients at the Harrods food halls during my stay in Knightsbridge!

  11. I’d love to stay at a lovely apartment rather than a hotel, especially just down the street from Harrods. Though high tea is nice, there’s something about being able to buy fine tea at a luxurious department store, then make it for yourself it in your temporary home and drink it in your pajamas!

  12. Favorite auction would have to be the private boat thing—baller to the max. Don’t even need 20 inch blades on my Impala…

  13. I would stay at the Ovington because I’ve already got a trip planned for London and didn’t get matched to anything this past week unlike everyone else and all their mothers.

  14. This 3 bedroom apartment is mug better suited for a large family vacation. Instead of having to pay for 3-4 hotel rooms, you can all split the cost of the apparent.

  15. I’d love a few days in a great place in London to share with friends where we can cook, unlike most hotels or a sweet stay on the beach in Thailand.

  16. The Ovington Elegance apartment sounds fantastic — great location, wonderful amenities, terrific value!

  17. London is one of the greatest cities in the world. The diversity of people, food and sites to see make it a wonderful place to visit.

  18. I’d love to stay at The Ovington Elegance as it’s a beautiful apartment in an unbeatable location.

  19. I’d personally choose the villa in Bali, as it would be a great holiday with my wife and some dear friends!
