Giveaway: London 3-Bedroom Apartment Stay Plus Incredible Deals on Chartering a Yacht, and a Week in a Greek Villa

Luxury Travel Diary, a high-end travel blog with great reviews based in the UK, has a bunch of travel auctions — some about to close, others extend into October — and there look to be some real bargains.

They wanted to highlight some of these, and offered to help organize a giveaway of a 3 night stay in a 3-bedroom luxury apartment in Knightsbridge, London for readers of this blog. Details on how to comment on this post to win below.

Folks who already know about these auctions won’t like the added attention, because frankly there aren’t enough bidders relative to the value of the offerings and some of these items go too cheap.

Here are some great auction values ending soon:

Check out the full details on each before bidding to make sure availability matches when you can travel. There’s page after page of auctions to scroll through, generally nice places that regularly appear to be selling for much less than they should.

Prize: a three-night stay in a luxury apartment in Knightsbridge, London at The Ovington Elegance – subject to availability, stay by April 28 (excluding December 25-27, December 31-January, and March 25-26).

The Ovington Elegance is a superb, luxury Three Bedroom Three Bathroom serviced apartments right on Brompton Road in the heart of London’s Knightsbridge. Two minutes’ walk from Harrod’s store and other exclusive shopping in the immediate area and with easy access to Knightsbridge and South Kensington tube stations, The Ovington Elegance has all of the luxury features and comfort you need for your central London stay backed up by London Lifestyle Apartment’s hospitality and care to ensure that you fully enjoy your visit to London.

London, like Paris, is one of those cities where a residential apartment is a great option for visitors. I tend to book hotels because I have so many points, but coming out of pocket living like a local can be uniquely appealing. This property looks lovely and in a great location — and while not cheap it’s a real value for three bedrooms!

To enter: leave a comment on this post with your favorite item up for auction at Luxury Travel Diary, or why you would choose to stay at The Ovington Elegance luxury apartment in Knightsbridge over other hotels in London. You may enter two times if you wish and answer those two questions one time each in separate comments.

Contest deadline and drawing winner: Entries close Thursday, December 3 at Noon eastern. I will draw winner with the assistance of random.org.

The fine print: For avoidance of doubt I have no affiliation with either Luxury Travel Diary or The Ovington Elegance luxury apartment. I will put the winner in touch with the hotel for booking. They are solely responsible for providing prize to winner. All decisions made in the course of running this giveaway are final and unappealable and your entry signifies your acceptance. The goal here is to make readers aware of a pretty cool auction opportunity, and to give away an apartment stay in London. So please don’t make it hard on me for doing so!

  1. I think the Orange Bicycle in Ontario looks like a nice peaceful spot to spend a few days…and not too far from home.

  2. looking at the current items i would have to say my favorite up for auction is the 4 night yacht charter with Kalimba Carribbean. For those who havent done a sailing charter….there is nothing more relaxing.

  3. An apartment would be great to have over a hotel, so we could have enough space to bring some friends along!

  4. I’d like to get the Rhodes Villa- just stayed on the Turkish Turquoise Coast last month, so would like to see the Greek alternative

  5. I would stay at The O b/c it’s in a rear location in Central London, allows for more than two people to stay together (a real treat in London), has a kitchen, which can cut down on cost for breakfast or a snack and has good Tube access.

  6. Of the above, I’d head to Mallorca…because I haven’t been there! We love Spain, but we generally head to Barcelona and Madrid. Bring on the adventure!

  7. I’d stay at the Knightsbridge apartment because there is no substitute for living like a local. Having lived in England for several years, I feel quite comfortable navigating London without the assistance of a concierge. This would be perfect for my family and me.

  8. I’d love to stay at the Knightsbridge apartment because we have only stayed at hotels in London and we would love to find out just what we are missing by not staying at an apartment!!

  9. I would definitely stay at The Ovington Elegance over a hotel anytime. I prefer the comfort and privacy of an apartment and this looks to be extremely luxurious.

  10. The 2 NIGHTS AT MARTINHAL SAGRES, ALGARVE, PORTUGAL looks very relaxing, and a great getaway. I think that looks like my favorite.

  11. Of all the auctions on their website I would go after 7 nights at Chalet Rosière, nr La Rosière Ski Resort, France so I can go skiing. And it is at a great price.

  13. Apartment in London would be great to try. Am such a hotel person, need to try something different!

  14. I would choose the apartment because you get a feel for more of the “normal” living in the city and feel like a local; as well as the location is great.

  15. I would choose to stay at The Ovington Elegance luxury apartment in Knightsbridge over other hotels in London because the location is fantastic, my family wouldn’t be dispersed in multiple hotel rooms, and the kitchen would enable us to do some light cooking when we’re not sampling great London restaurants.

  16. My favorite item up for auction at Luxury Travel Diary is 2 nights in a cabin at The Redwoods In Yosemite, California.

  17. Wouldn love to visit Mallorca. I’m from Spain originally, but have never been to the Balearic Islands. Also would love to go to London!

  20. A week in Rhodes, Greece would be an amazing way to spend a graduation trip with friends and family: the perfect blend of history and beach vacation.

  21. The Ovington Elegance looks like the best location for spending a day getting lost in the V&A museum or walking to the best place in London, the Peter Pan statue in Kensington Gardens.

  22. I have family in Sheffield and I live in NJ. This apartment would be a perfect meeting place for a nice long weekend in London. A week in Rhodes would be fantastic too.
