3 United Bonuses: Flying, Transferring, and Partner Earning

25% Hotel Points Transfer Bonus

United MileagePlus is offering a 25% bonus when you transfer IHG Rewards Club points to miles through November 15. Registration is required.

10,000 IHG Rewards Club points which are worth ~ $60 — normally transfer to 2000 United miles worth $32. Not a great deal. With this offer you get 2500 United miles, worth ~ $40. Still not a good deal although I could imagine someone wanting to top off a United account for an award with a mostly-dormant IHG Rewards Club balance doing this.

Up to 7500 Points Per Tokyo Haneda Segment

United is also offering up to 7500 bonus miles for Tokyo Haneda flights. Registration required for this as well.

You can earn up to 7500 miles per segment flying between San Francisco and Tokyo Haneda on United or between Los Angeles and Tokyo Haneda on ANA through January 31. Not all coach fares earn bonuses, though most do.

30% Partner Earning Bonus

United’s 30% bonus earning points with partners you haven’t earned with before that runs through November 20 is in my view a better offer than both of these (although you can of course take advantage of all 3). Sadly the 30% partner bonus does not apply to transferred points, and thus does not leverage the IHG Rewards Club transfer offer.
