Who Has the Most Miles and Points? Here’s How Many You’d Need to Be in the Top Spot.

It appears that the American FIFA executive who turned state’s evidence was in part driven in his corruption by miles and points,

From 2004 to 2011, more than $26 million of Concacaf expenses were charged to Blazer’s personal American Express account… [perhaps] because of “Blazer’s desire to accumulate American Express membership reward points.”

Randy Petersen commented,

26 million points huh? A piker, the top guy in that program is well over 120 million.

One hundred twenty million American Express Membership Rewards points.

I’ve accumulated seven figures’ worth of Amex points. I expect that eventually, in my lifetime, I will accumulate 100 million miles across all programs.

.. But to accumulate 120 million points in a single program? Amazing.

  1. “How many MR points do I need for the rocket to Alpha Centauri? … OK, that sounds reasonable, but what are the amenity kits like on that route? Can I get a free stopover on one of Saturn’s moons?”

  2. Didn’t some guy in China buy a teacup at an auction house and charge it on his Amex Black card and got 420 million points out of it? And he just bought some painting or tapestry recently and got another few hundred million as well

  3. So are his Amex points in Yuan value or it’s the same here? Would his Amex Points get a 1:1 transfer rate? 420 million KrisFlyer miles? 😀

  4. Gary 120 million wouldn’t be so amazing if it is Sepp Blatter who earned them. I would be curious to know how many and how these heavy hitters redeem their points.

  5. They don’t have to redeem their miles since they are living large on someone else’s dime anyway.

  6. Hong Kong Membership Rewards points transfer 15 -1 to frequent flyer points, so the 422M points is only worth around 28M frequent flier miles- so no where near Randy’s 120M top tier earner…

  7. We have probably accumulated 25-30 million so far. 100 million lifetime sounds doable. Heck, a single credit card signup will eneventually be 500,000.
