How To Claim Free Gogo Internet Passes from American Express

The new benefit of free inflight internet for American Express Business Platinum cardholders is now available for use.

Business Platinum (and Centurion) cardholders get 10 free Gogo inflight internet passes per year.

Here’s where you get your passes.

Just enter your eligible card on the page. Authorized cardholders on Business Platinum accounts appear to get the passes, it’s not a benefit just for the primary cardholder.

Once you’ve validated your card, you have to decide whether to add 10 passes to an existing Gogo account or create a new account.

Some considerations:

  • If you have an ‘airline unlimited’ subscription like I do (American and US Airways), you can still add the passes to your account and use them when flying a different airline.

  • If you have an unlimited (multiple airlines) subscription you might want to create a new account for a friend.

You’ll apply the passes to your account, and then you’re done.

  1. I have a bus plat Amex. I have a gogo account. I am heading to Maui in April with 4 family members (none of which have the card) who will have internet devices and want to use the service. Can we all be logged into my gogo account at the same time, each using a pass? Or do I need to create a distinct gogo account for each of them to use a pass? Or is there no way to make this happen?

  2. They might give it to a Platinum Personal holder if you call and ask. But consider that it wasn’t offered to us–after paying $450/year! And further consider that Costco is dropping AMEX. The progression is that there is less and less value with my Platinum AMEX. Gary, whats the closest Card to what I used to like about my Platnum AMEX?

  3. Personal Amex Platinum got Boingo. Free wifi. Trouble is, I can’t recall in the past 3-4 years NOT getting free wifi everywhere I go. Or at worst, using some of my over abundant cellular data. Who pays for wifi? So, FREE wifi as a benefit just isn’t a benefit. Hello Amex, I’d really like some Gogo!!
