A True Thank You for Sharing Your Comments, Here’s What It’s Meant

You’ve been sharing your feedback (good and bad!) with me — as well as your questions, insights, and wisdom — for a very long time.

Nearly 150,000 times.

And I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that. You’ve posted many more times to this blog than I have, and I appreciate the chance I have to interact with you… here in the comments, in person at events or when we run into each other during our travels, and by email.

I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know. You’ve helped keep me going for the past twelve and a half years.

And for any of you that are interested, I’ll guess that I will write my 10,000th post sometime in late January or early February.

  2. Gary, do you have a way of knowing what countries the majority of your readers are in, something like a top ten? Obviously the U.S. is likely first, but curious what others are included.

  3. Gary – my sense is it started as a hobby, became a business but has always been a passion. You have been very generous with your help. Yeah, some people feel you can’t be trusted since you and others have found a way to monetize it. Heck, I’m a dentist, I charge for my services and believe it or not, patients still like me!

    I’m personally grateful for the times you have generously answered my questions, even telling me I didn’t need you to give me help with my tickets to OZ. And we’re set to go next month!

    May you go from strength to strength and continue to make my life and others more fun, more rewarding and more exciting!

  6. I remember meeting Gary at the House of Miles many years ago home to Inside Flyer Magazine and the original Flyertalk.com
    I’m not even sure why we were there other than to drop in to see the incomparable Randy Petersen and the gang. Perhaps an event? The Freddies?
    We were all socializing yet Gary was mostly on the computer deeply focused on social media (pre bloggers) and checking on every promotion by the second.
    My thoughts were pretty intense focused guy chasing the miles trail…..

    Back in those days I remember sharing my secrets to help him on occasion with his travel strategy.
    Today I continue to learn more from Gary than I could have ever imagined.
    Gary’s content of information is as exceptional as the way I felt about Randy Petersen’s contributions back in the late 90s and onward. Perhaps more than any individual I have ever known.

    My thanks to both Gary and Randy for changing my life and giving me the continued inspiration and keys to the world. That includes access to friendships and experiences that continue and last a lifetime all through the world of miles.
    I owe you both a debt of gratitude
    Keep those posts coming for another 100 years and Congratulations! Well done

    I remember great in depth conversations with Adam Burke of Hilton HHonors when both the management and the program were still stellar
    The good old days when United actually was still a good airline with reasonable award availability (sigh)
